State Superintendent Ryan Walters to enforce federal DEI mandate

State Superintendent Ryan Walters says starting April 25, he will begin withholding education funds from school districts that have Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion programs – also known as DEI.

The Title VI assurance was originally mandated by the U.S. Department of Education.

In a statement, Walters says, “Under the leadership of President Donald Trump and Secretary McMahon, we've set a national standard that protects our children from discriminatory practices under the guise of DEI."
