Claremore Police are investigating a homicide after a woman shot her boyfriend.

Police said the shooting happened Sunday morning at a home near Dupont Street and Moore Avenue.

Investigators said Crystal Stanfield called a family member who then reported the shooting to police around 10:30 a.m.

The police report says officers found Kevin Theard in the master bedroom with a gunshot wound under his chin.

Police arrested Stanfield and say she is facing a first-degree murder charge.

"What we're doing now is kind of just waiting. We're in a holding pattern. We're waiting to get in front of a judge to get a search warrant signed," said Chief Steve Cox with Claremore Police.
