We have less than a month before Christmas, and maybe you're still wondering what to get that young child in your life. You might want to find something that's fun, but can also be educational.

Kendra Morgan is a child development expert and the founder of Building All Children. She shared some great ideas on 6 In The Morning.

What are some guiding principles for buying for children?

Keep it simple. Morgan said she's always about keeping it simple because grandma, grandpa and uncle might be buying gifts too, and it can just be overwhelming.

"So don't go out and buy 30 gifts. They don't need that much. Just give them two or three good things that they can play with. When they get so many, it's okay to put them away and bring them out in the months to come. They don't realize and remember everything they get, so just keep it simple," Morgan said.
