Tulsa Public Schools Board Members To Discuss Impact Of COVID-19 On The District

Tulsa Public Schools will update parents on the latest COVID-19 information on Monday.

The meeting is for board members to talk about the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on the district.

Last week, the district had 17 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 128 close contact exposures. 14 of the 17 confirmed cases are students.

During Monday's meeting, board members will also hear a recommendation on renaming the Tulsa Learning Academy to North Star Academy.

Board members will also talk about signing a contract with T-Mobile called "The T-Mobile Project 10-Million Agreement."

The contract would provide 150 free hotspots to students.

Another contract that will be discussed is one that would give a local construction company $103,000 to fix the pool at Booker T. Washington High School.

That money is part of a 2015 bond initiative.
