Tulsa Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Deborah Gist said the district has experienced their first COVID-19 related death.

The district said Michael Angelo, a member of the facilities and operations team, passed away due to complications from COVID-19.

The district said his wife, Violet Angelo, is a custodian in the district and has recovered from COVID-19.

The district extended their condolences to the Angelo family.
