A teenager was arrested for first degree murder in Mayes County on March 22, according to OSBI.
The teen is accused of murdering a relative in a Pryor home, OSBI said.
Mayes County deputies came in contact with the teen for a traffic related incident, OSBI said. While they were talking with the teen, deputies felt a welfare check needed to be done at a home in Pryor, OSBI said.
Pryor police went to the home and found a woman dead inside, OSBI said.
The teen was taken to the hospital to be checked out, then released and taken to the police station where he was interviewed and later arrested for first degree murder, OSBI said.
