1 Dead, 2 Injured In Pittsburg County Crash

One man is dead and two more are injured after a fatal crash in Pittsburg County around 12:30 p.m. on Friday.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP), Matthew Lawson, 22, died at the McAlester Regional Hospital after suffering multiple injuries during the crash on OK-9 at Bower Road in Longtown, OK.

Authorities said that Lawson was driving a 2016 Kia Sportage eastbound on OK-9 when he attempted to turn left in front of oncoming traffic and hit a 2002 Dodge.

The OHP said that two men were in the Dodge during the crash and they were taken to the St. Francis Hospital in Muskogee in stable condition.
