Applications for the Oklahoma Highway Patrol 47th Cadet Lawman Academy will be closing soon.

This free, week-long summer program is for students between their junior and senior years of high school.

The OHP said the program offers a chance for students to see the training that troopers go through and get to participate in much of that training.

To qualify for the program, students must have a 2.0 GPA or higher, be physically able to participate, and have a signed endorsement from their principal or superintendent.

Applications close after April 1.
