Verdigris Police have confirmed that the suspect that was on the run Tuesday night is now in custody.

Officers say Robert Friend was spotted walking down the road about two blocks from a gas station near Highway 66 Wednesday morning. Officers say when they spotted Friend, he once again tried to run from them but he was tased and taken into custody.

Friend, was handcuffed and in the police car Tuesday night but he was able to slide out of his shoes and move his handcuffs to the front of his body before escaping the vehicle. Police said Friend has a long history of felony convictions in Rogers and Tulsa counties.
