Fire Damages Multiple RVs At Tulsa Dealership

Tulsa fire investigators are trying to figure out why several RVs caught fire at Bob Hurley RV near I-44 and Union.

Firefighters say they arrived on scene, saw the heavy smoke, and immediately called for extra help. We were able to see the flames from our Osage Casino Skycam near I-44 and Highway 75 and drivers saw it from miles away.

Investigators say as many as six RVs somehow caught fire in the back lot of the dealership. It took a few hours for the smoke to finally clear.

District Chief Jon Steiner said they had to cut open part of the fence because firefighters had a tough time getting to the fire.

"We hate to cut fences, we hate to damage property but otherwise, it spreads and with all the smoke and being dark at night, it was hard to determine exactly what we had," said Steiner.

Firefighters said they were worried about the flames burning the power lines, so PSO came out to check on the lines and nearby power poles.

The District Fire Chief said they plan to look at surveillance video and see if they can find more details about what happened.
