Lottery Worker Facing 25-Year Prison Sentence For Rigging Jackpots Across Five States-- Netting $2 Million

A former lottery worker from Iowa is facing 25-years in prison for rigging jackpots across five different states and winning $2 million over the course of six-years.

The 54-year-old man spent a decade working with the Multi-State Lottery Association where he built computers used to randomly pick numbers for some of the most popular lottery games in the US.

But during this time he secretly installed software that allowed him to pick winning numbers and was collecting money from jackpots in five states.

He was arrested in 2015, later admitting he fixed the lottery six times. He now faces up to 25-years behind bars when he’s sentenced later today (Tuesday).
