(Ruh-Roh!)... Dog Having Cancer Surgery Had Stuffed Animals Removed Instead

Maisy, and eight-year-old St. Bernard, was taken in for a CT scan by her owner when a large mass in her stomach and spleen showed up on the scan.
Cancer seemed the most obvious thing.

But when the veterinary surgeon opened her up in an attempt to remove the “tumors” he was expecting to find, he found instead a bizarre surprise: four large undigested stuffed toys, packed into the elderly dog’s abdomen. The plush toys had been blocking the digestion of proper food.

The doctor was quoted as saying that they “all know certain dogs enjoy chewing things they shouldn’t but managing to devour four full teddy bears is quite a feat.” Maisy is, however, still in trouble. Turns out the toys weren’t hers. Her owner didn’t even recognize one.

But now that Maisy is free, she is loving life. Her owner reports a happy ending and that it’s “like she got her youth back.”
