So it's been a couple of months now that I am just OVER IT!!!! My skin that is. I don't know if it's the weather, the fact that I'm getting old, (30 is creeping up on me), or I'm just grumpy because I haven't had a rita with my BFF, Angie, in a while! But I have decided to do something about it. Enough is enough!!!
You have probably heard me talk about the Busted Tour that we are doing with Whitlock Plastic Surgery. Well they also have the Reflexions Medical Spa with their facility. Deciding to go to them only felt like the natural thing to do... Anytime we have been out on one of our Busted stops, Rhonda and her staff are usually there, and they let me harrass them with my skin questions. LOL It's good knowing the right people!!!
To make a long story short, I made an appointment with Reflexions Medical Spa to see what they could do for me!! Lalie, my medical aesthetician, gave me a consultation. I told her about my skin concerns, breakouts, blotchy-ness, scars, my birthmark...BLAH BLAH BLAH! EVERYTHING!!! Lalie was so great...She didn't judge me for using a hodge-podge of products on my face...She even pampered me with that fun tingling green mask.... It was so relaxing!
After that she took pics of my face...CLOSE UP PICS!!! LOL they were pretty funny actutally...The machine they used made me feel like I was that kid in Willy Wanka who shrank...in the white room?....Anyone remember that? Anyone?....
LOL...Moving on... Come to find out my skin isn't as flawless as everyone has complimented me on... Being a kid who grew up in the Florida sun... I have sun damage.... Even more than I thought would turn up. You have seen those things on shows like Oprah where women analyze their skin and you can literally see the damage...not to mention the pores, bacteria, wrinkles (YAY thats a fun one)! So it is time to do something... Photofacial!
I start my treatments next week...So ladies I will keep you posted...Hopefully we can see the results and start repairing this skin of mine... Because like I said I am way over it!!! Oh and I forgot, Lalie put me on skin treatment with Obagi. So now my skin can have a consistant routine! YAY! I will keep you posted on it as well!
Don't forget the sunscreen, ladies!!!
BELOW IS AN IMAGE OF MY SKIN ANALYSIS PERFORMED BY REFLEXION MEDICAL SPA!

Ok ladies....Just to update you... Every woman goes through a period where her skin isn't up to par. Facials are nice, but just not doing the trick. I know I have great skin, but I was at a place where it just wasn't feeling good. My moisturizer isn't enough, my normal make-up application didn't seem consistant anymore, blah blah blah....So after my first consultation with Lalie, I decided it was time to step it!
I had my first photofacial treatment this last Monday. Photofacials have gained a huge popularity because of its more dramatic results than Microdermabrasion or chemical peels. Lalie had me lay back and get comfortable. She put a numbing cream on my face and let me gab...After the numbing cream set in (about 30 minutes, it was pretty relaxing, I was ready for a little afternoon nap), Lalie put an ultrasound gel on my face...Put the googles on me...And started to zap me... Now don't get scared ladies, I never felt a thing. My adrenaline was going because of the anticipation of the zap, but I never felt it. I just saw the light flash...It was actually pretty fun!
Lalie can give you the run down on the technical stuff. She went into the details of system they use but once she said it, I was like "HUH?" She said, "Its the best of the best." Good enough for me. After I left my face was tight, and numb! LOL But it feft so good and smooth...Oh and so did my hands! (She did my hands too....Never too soon to think about those sun spots ladies!!!) I had just a little redness...Keep in mind I am very fair complected....When I say red, it basically gave my checks a nice rosey color. My boyfriend didn't even notice...So it was very minimal. Oh and the numbing went away shortly after.
My first session is down... and it was a breeze. If you have questions about the photofacial process call Lalie at 918-743-5438. Or any of the other procedures at Reflexions, the staff will for sure take care of you.

Ok ladies, I told you about the new skin regimen I am on called Obagi. I used to work at a beauty counter at a dept store and had lots of access to and knowledge about beauty products, so I thought I was covered, but I had never heard of Obagi. As I have gotten older, I have noticed that my skin isn't reacting to products the same. I am learning that as my skin changes, so should my facial products.
During my first consultaion with Lalie at Reflexions, she introduced me to Obagi. I had never heard of it before. My normal routine was a Clean and Clear face wash, sometimes a toner, and a Lancome moisturizer. Love my Lancome moisturizer! But since I have been using Obagi now for three weeks, I HAVE A NEW LOVE!!!! More than just a new product to wash my face everyday, Obagi treats your skin from all of the daily abuses it goes through...You know the sun, enviornment, and stress!
I could give you the technical info on Obagi, but I recommend you do your own research to see it for yourself. The easiest way I know how to explain what Obagi has done for me is this: Have you ever taken a piece of tape to your skin, pulled it off and saw the dead skin on the tape? Well that dead skin stays there for a long time!!! EWWW GROSS!!! Obagi gets rid of that dead stuff and brings the good stuff to the surface!!!
Please keep in mind I am not giving Obagi its deserved justice. Obagi does a lot more than that. Results have shown Obagi helps with fine lines and wrinkles, freckles and age spots. I have freckles that keep poping up because I can't avoid the sun, and a light birth mark by my right eye. In just the few weeks I have been using Obagi, I have noticed my freckles and birth mark fading. My skin isn't blotchy like it was. And my pores are incredible. My skin just feels PHENOMENAL!!!!! Even my boyfriend noticed and commented last week how great my skin looks and now he is thinking about using Obagi.
I'm going NAKED!!! I haven't been wearing make-up!!!!! I don't want to! My skin feels to good and looks amazing. Applying make-up at this point would just be a waste!!!! If you want to research Obagi, check out www.obagi.com. And then make an appointment with Lalie at Reflexions, 918-592-6869. She can answer all of your questions and put you on the Obagi products that are right for you.
Results are supposed to really show into the 6th week, so I will keep you posted on its progress. I really don't know how more people don't know about Obagi!!!!

I had my second photofacial session at Reflexions Medical Spa this last Monday. It was a breeze. Same deal as before: chit chat with Lalie, got comfy, numbing cream on the face for 30mins ( thats the best because the lights are out and I can usually squeeze a nap in), and then Lalie does her zapping thing. Quick, easy and my pores and skin felt so tight, all I wanted to do was touch it. LOL I even made Chase touch it when I got back to the station!!!! HA!!!! He wanted me!!!
After everything, Lalie asked me if I was interested in Botox? Not because I needed it but if I was interested Rikki was there to talk to me about it if I had questions. Rikki, is a registered nurse, and she had the 411. I never really saw myself getting Botox until I started to notice my mothers skin, just thinking about what my skin could look like. In her 50's my mom, virtually has no lines on her forehead. I think every woman can relate to the idea that there is something if we could change we would. I have always hated the "11" that sits on my brow line. It seems pretty deep and I just hate it.
If your not familiar with Botox it is by injection, which means needle, which means I'm instantly nervous. I have big fear of needles. Long story short.... me as a toddler, in walks nurse with long needle, she darts into my booty, and then I'm off the table running around the room with a needle hanging out of my skin. So since I'm numb, I figure I may as well do it now.
There are minimal risks, and if you are interested in learning more Rikki is awesome to talk to. After consulting with her, I thought my biggest risk was becoming addicted to Botox, as in I am going to love it so much, that once it wears off in about 6 months I will want to keep coming back to do it again....But hey for the price of beauty that is a risk I am willing to take!!!!
48hrs after the Botox, I am seeing AWESOME results!!!! And the best part, so are other people.... But they can't figure out what it is. It's great!!!! It's so subtle that I don't have to tell them... Except now I am tell you my web-kidz! I don't know if its the photofacial, Obagi, and/or Botox now, but this has been the best thing I have ever done for myself.
My birthday is just around the corner and I have never felt so good!!!! So call Reflexions Medical Spa at 592-6869 and make an appointment just to talk to them about everything they have to offer. If you would like a FREE VISIA Skincare Analysis (thats what they did for me on my first visit, see pics from my first blog), then come up to the K-Hits studios and pick up a Reflexions card, in our lobby during business hours. Hello, IT'S FREE!!! You may be surprised by the results. I know I was, and so far I am very impressed by my results!!!!

My 3rd session for my photofacial is down. Since my last appointment I have noticed blackheads popping up, very minimal. My skin has been feeling great. The obagi treatments are in full effect! The flaking has stopped and my skin simply feels INCREDIBLE!!!! I haven't been wearing as much make-up, so my extra time in the morning is spent sleeping in for and extra 10 minutes!!! LOVE IT!!!!
Lalie said the impurites are just coming up and my face is getting clean!!! YAY!!! The photofacial did hurt just a bit more than I was used too. I informed Lalie and she said it may have been because my monthly visitor was coming, so my skin was a little more sensitive than usual. Lalie turned it down the zap just a bit and I was fine.
I have gotten lots of compliments on my skin since my last treatment and I just feel better!!!! Get a free VISIA Skincare Analysis from Reflexions by coming up to the station at 7030 S Yale, Suite 711.
And if you have questions, always feel free to call me, 918-460-1069 to KHITS Monday thru Friday 10a- 3p.
XOXOXO
~Cristal
