Ochelata Volunteer Firefighter Arrested, Facing Arson Charges

A volunteer firefighter has been arrested in Washington County, accused of lighting the fires he would go out and fight.

Dakoda Davis was arrested on two counts of second-degree arson. He was a member of the Ochelata Fire Department.

Prosecutors said Davis confessed to setting 19 fires around Washington and Osage County, including two structure fires and several fires on one man’s ranch. They said Davis went out with other firefighters to put out almost all of those fires.

The Ochelata Fire Department issued a statement, saying,

Ochelata Fire Dept. would like to address an ongoing arson investigation in our area. The Ochelata Fire Dept along with the Oklahoma Department of Agricultural investigators and the Washington County Sheriff’s office have been doing an ongoing investigation into a string of arson fires. Oklahoma Department of Agricultural investigators would like to inform everyone that an arrest has been made and charges have been filed. Thank You.
